Aliya Karmali

Behavioural Instructor & Educator

Aliya works with children and families on behavioural intervention and ABA implementation, tutoring, and Qur’an instruction, including with children who have special needs. This is educational and behavioural support work — it is not psychotherapy, and it sits alongside the clinical practice rather than inside it.

What Aliya works with

Behavioural intervention

Day-to-day implementation of ABA programmes, working alongside the plans a family already has in place.

Children with special needs

Direct work with children, and support for the families and caregivers around them.

Tutoring

Academic support, including for students who need a different pace or a different way in.

Qur’an instruction

Recitation and reading, taught at the pace the student actually needs.

Where Tabeeah came from

Aliya’s landscape architecture thesis reimagined the Najaf-to-Karbala pilgrimage route as a series of healing gardens. That work is where the Tabeeah philosophy grew from.

Scope of this work

Aliya is not a member of a regulated health profession in Ontario, and this work is not psychotherapy, counselling, diagnosis, or treatment of a mental health condition. Behavioural instruction, tutoring and Qur’an teaching are not restricted activities and do not require registration with a college.

If what you are looking for is therapy, that is a separate service provided by Ali Raza Hasan Ali, MSW, RSW, Psychotherapist, who is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
